Dear all,Welcome and a Happy Ozone layer conservation day. We all know that Ozone protects us from harmful cosmic rays i.e. UV rays, which may cause skin cancer to us. This year's them is "Protect sky: Ozone friendly planet, our aim". In 1987, under United Nation's Environ. programme (UNEP), it was decided to ban production of chlorofluoro carbons (CFCs). Today in the management of environ. & pollution prevention, two chief problems are: 1. Climate change 2. World temperature . IN climate change, vehicle rush, increasing industries, and deforestation, population explosion, Municipal & solid waste mgmt play an important role. These are causes of all pollution. These result in GHG emission, CO2 & NOx generation causing depletion of Ozone. They also cause global warming. Many efforts to curb temp. rise at global level resulted in formation of IPCC (Intergovt.Panel on Climate change) under which 400 scientists issued first pollution control application. IN 1992, in Rio de generio 189 govt. agreed to reduce pollution at Earth summit at Japan.
